Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a public launch ramp?

Yes, our launch ramp is open to the public. Daily launch fees are $16 Monday-Fri for boats 24’ and under, and $22 for boats 25’ and over. Weekend/Holiday rates are $24 for boats 24’ and under, and $32 for boats 25’ and over. Kayaks and Rooftop boats pay the guest parking rate of $6.

Where do I pay the launch fee?

Launchers can use the self-service pay box if paying with a card or exact change. If you need change, you must see the Fuel Dock attendant. The paybox is located on the side of the office building as you are coming down 32nd Street to the launch ramp. If you launch before our operating hours, an employee will tag your car and you can pay the launch fee when you come off the river.

Can I launch my boat and leave my truck and trailer parked in your lot overnight?

Overnight parking is allowed but each day your truck and trailer is parked in our lot is a launch fee. If staying for multiple days, you must pay launch fees at the Fuel Dock or Ships Store (the paybox is only for single-day launchers).

Do you have parking for single cars?

We have limited single vehicle parking spaces for guests of launchers and rooftop boats. These spaces are $6 per day and are first come, first served and do fill up on busy weekends.

What time should I get to the marina on a weekend if I want to get a parking space?

The parking lot for trucks and trailers often fills up on busy weekends. Typically, you will be able to get a spot if you arrive by 10AM. If the lot is closed when you arrive, you can wait until a spot opens up when another launcher leaves.

Can public launchers use marina patios, bathrooms and other facilities?

Patios and shower houses are for marina members only (slip users). Public launchers can use the satellite toilet near the launch ramp or the marine toilets located on the Fuel Dock. We do not have gathering spaces for those using the public ramp.

Do you offer transient slips/dockage?

What else is offered on the Fuel Dock?

The Fuel Dock offers pump-outs, soda, snacks, ice cream, sunscreen, live bait and basic boating essentials, like aqua kem, toilet paper and boat soap.

Can I fish from docks in the marina?

No. Fishing is not allowed due to the potential for lines to get hung up on marina-owned docks and/or causing damage to boats, as well as creating a hazard for launch guests. Fishing is allowed at the Afton public beach (go the South end of the marina and park on the right side of the road, opposite the harbor—this side of the street belongs to the City of Afton)
